Kearns- As individuals we tend to get bored of the norms of everyday events like picking out your wardrobe and driving, including the food we eat. There is a place that is a four-minute drive away from Kearns High school. Serving outside the normal American, Chinese, and Italian food. Giving you a chance to have a new culinary experience. Outside of your everyday diet and even your culture.

Located in 3898 west 5535 south, hidden between an apartment complex and the remnants of what used to be a K-mart. El Rincon Salvadoreno specializes in making Salvadorian cuisine and a bakery.

Tito Campos started his business in 2005. He had a previous business before, but “It became unsafe in area and we had children to take care of” its shutdown afterwards. However, Tito Campos continued to make his food for his friends and relatives at parties, and in his home. “They were the people who encouraged us for the second time to set up our restaurant”. El Rincon Salvadoreno since then became a business with active consumers from all kinds of backgrounds. Tito Campos said “We even get missionaries from LDS church… People from all over the Kearns, West Valley, and Taylorsville come to eat our food.”

The Cougar Claw asked why he chose a difficult location.  Tito Campos responded, “That is one of the main reasons we chose this location. They say when the food is great the word spreads… We get lots of business from satisfied customers who have recommended our restaurant… and before, we even had the K-mart that brought by passing clientele.”

El Rincon Salvadoreno has been in business for about 15 years now “Since then we have been preparing our food and still continue to perfect it.” Their most popular dishes are the Plato Rincon, El Combo Mix, and Bistec Encebollado. What makes El Rincon Salvadoreno different from other businesses is their preparation. “We have workers with different workstation. Each working on a specific food items of the menu giving the food our very own unique taste… Our ingredients come from El Salvador and other parts like Florida…and our bread is traditional to El Salvador and prepared daily for freshness.” Campo’s message towards the community was “Come on by to try our diverse selection of dishes.” El Rincon Salvadoreno is a warm and inviting restaurant with delicious food and bright decorations.
