Kearns vs. Murray Football

Joey Nava, Writer

On Friday October 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at Murray High School, Kearns went head-to-head with Murray’s football team. In a very close, very intense, game. Kearns barely beat Murray by 3 points! With the score being 21-18.

After halftime the score was 14 (Kearns) to 3 (Murray), what looked like a blowout for Murray actually turned out to be an incredible comeback by Murray. Murray scored 2 touchdowns making the score 14-18.

We possibly would not have won without Shay Reid’s incredible 93-yard intercept and then scoring a touchdown making the score 21-18.

In an interview with Sergio Solórzano (someone who was supporting Kearns) he answered the following:

What were your thoughts on the game?

Sergio: “I think we did good; our offense was great but we just need a little work on our defense.”

With how good we’ve done this season so far, how do you think we’ll do the rest of the season?

Sergio: “With how we are doing right now, I think we are in for a fantastic season!”

Kearns has had a great season so far with 7 wonderful wins and 1 loss, is we keep this up we are going to dominate all schools. Hopefully we don’t have any more unfortunate injuries, and hopefully we keep doing as well as we are doing right now. Kearns next game will be at Weber on Wednesday October 14th at 7:00 p.m. Go out and support our Kearns Cougars. Best of luck!
