Kearns- Azteca De Oro is a place where I go to grab a quick bite and in occasions drink a refreshing coke. A business that not only is a market, but also a restaurant. The community based business having loyal clients and shoppers. A family focused business aiming to connect with the community. Smalls businesses are often the most comforting and personal. Forming the backbone of our nation. I felt the necessity of spotlighting a local Hispanic owned business.

Eva Rodriguez, the owner, gave me the opportunity to get to know her and the business. Eva Rodriguez originally is from the “Estado de Mexico” or Mexico City to be exact. She migrated to the U.S to seek the “American dream”. Her family has been “gente de negocio”, business oriented. Having the mindset Eva started saving money to start her own business. Making her dream a reality. Azteca De Oro is a family run and modern mom-and-pop shop . She has successfully operated the business for “nine years”. Cougar Claw asked her What type of clients do you have? She replied “Majority being hispanic. Mostly people who know about the business and love mexican food. Sparingly other races who come explore the shop and have a taste of mexican cuisine.”Which was one of her business goals. Introducing american to “My own style of mexican food”. She was asked where she saw her business in  five to ten years from now? Eva responded “I want to expand to other locations. Keeping it in Kearns, since it all started here.Sticking with the community’
