Alyssa Sainsbury, Editor in Chief

On Saturday December 11, 2021, Kearns Youth Council hosted a Christmas fundraiser. The fundraiser was held at the Kearns public library. The purpose of the fundraiser was to raise money for the Youth Homeless Resource Center. The Council had many activities for those who attended the fundraiser including a few crafts, meeting Santa, getting pictures with him, and watching those who were performing.
Some of the activities included making ornaments, having a scavenger hunt and winning candy from Christmas games. The performers at the fundraiser were the Latinos in Action dance group and the Kearns High School Madrigals.
The Kearns Youth Council was accepting donations for the shelter as well as items such as jackets, coats, shirts, gloves, and undergarments. Also including hygienic products like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, hygienic products, and hair brushes. The Council was raising money through selling hot chocolate and cookies in the front of the library. With selling hot chocolate and receiving donations the Kearns Youth Council raised about 5,300 dollars for the Youth Homeless Resource Center. Along with receiving countless clothing and goods intended for the shelter.
