How often have you met someone with a birthday on the same day as a holiday? It’s actually a lot more common than you may think. That is depending on said holiday or time of season. Lots of famous celebrities have holiday birthdays such as Adele (Cinco De Mayo), Leonardo DiCaprio (Veterans Day), Louis Tomlinson (Christmas Eve), and Post Malone (Fourth of July). However, having a birthday on a holiday may not be all sunshine and rainbows.

Many people with holiday birthdays may feel that the holiday takes away the spotlight from their special day. Especially for holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Christmas Eve or Christmas, and New Years. Ashley Lopez, who has a birthday on Valentine’s Day, says, “Everybody gets to go out with their couple, leaving me at home all alone.”

Just because they have a holiday birthday doesn’t necessarily mean that they have a bad birthday. Some don’t let the holiday ruin their special occasion. Many can have a very fun special birthday not letting the holiday take away their day. Jonathan Mundos is another person who has a holiday birthday. His birthday is on November 11th or Veterans Day which celebrates soldiers and people who are veterans. “There’s not a specific time that I can remember where I didn’t have a fun birthday. My birthdays were always amazing,” Jonathan informs. It is still very possible to have a great birthday even on holidays.

Many people with the holiday birthday may use it as an excuse to brag. Wouldn’t it be cool to tell someone that you have a birthday on Christmas or New Years? Lots of friends or family may have questions about your day or just seem really interested in talking to you. Ashley says, “It does feel nice to brag about my birthday because it gives people something to remember me by.” It’d be pretty cool if you could brag about having a birthday on a holiday. Especially with holidays celebrated around the world and everywhere.

Having a birthday on a holiday can be special but also a little sad to others. It can have mixed emotions and it may depend on the person and how they feel about it. Nevertheless, having a holiday birthday can be very exciting and fun to talk about. It’s an uncommon thing and people with these birthdays can be very lucky.
