What is the purpose of a new iPhone since just last year there was an upgrade? The older iPhone models 14 or 15 will not be getting all the Artificial intelligence except for the 15 pro models. The iPhone 16s just came out on the 9th of September and a pre-order date for the 13th and a date of the 20th for when most will receive it if ordered on the 9th. The closer we get to an age of technology, A.I. can help to make life easier and faster. With the new A18 chip, the iPhone is expected to perform faster and longer with the efficiency of the chip and battery.

With an even better camera that is starting to compare to professional cameras, smartphones can now shoot 4k 120 frames per second video. This upgrade in camera performance was made for the Vision Pro that Apple recently released so that there can be crystal clear video when you watch it back with the memories feature.

Tyler Hansen, the Kearns High School computer science teacher, has an opinion on the upgrading of smartphones yearly. He said, “That technology is always changing, always moving.” He is right because phones and all the advancements in technology are always getting better. Also, he said that if he were to upgrade, he would be” more out to go with the standard model since I don’t need the camera and faster chip but a good functional phone.” Going with the lower model you are getting all the new features that the pro gets like the artificial intelligence that other phones are not getting.

The other thing that makes it worth upgrading is the artificial intelligence. This will save people lots of time, another thing to mention is the new buttons coming to the iPhone with the capture button. It is a button that quickly launches the camera app so if a child is first walking and mothers want to capture that memory it makes it fast and easy to quickly get to the camera and start recording to never miss a moment.

There are a few negatives though, with one being the A.I. feature that won’t be coming until later this year.  When upgrading, don’t do it so soon. When they come out in early October it might be time to upgrade since no other Apple phone will get it.

With the phone not going up in price for the second time in a row it might be the best time to upgrade to an iPhone before they go up in price in the coming years. This is why it is the best time to upgrade now and not wait or at least soon so you’re not waiting till November like some are doing in the pre-order line with the black pro max
