religion, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation… In nearly

twenty years since the 1990 enactment of the Hate Crime Statistics Act (HCSA), the number of

hate crimes reported has consistently ranged around 7,500 of more annually. That’s one every

hour of the day.” (Hate Crimes in America: The Nature and Magnitude of the Problem)

comments.”(TV news reporter, cameraman are fatally shot during live broadcast in Virginia; suspected shooter

posts video of attack, then kills himself) Two years before the attack he was fired for going pretty much

time reporters have been murdered on live television, this is the most recent. Many people don’t

realize that journalism is just reporting, it is dangerous little words that don’t mean anything to

most people mean that the worst has happened. Bullying is also a big problem in today’s society

very little people think about how their words can really hurt people.
