Chromebooks, Are They Helpful?

Sara Bremer, Student Life writer

With today’s technology, it’s not surprising that schools such as Kearns High School have new technological gadgets. Previously, KHS had iPods for its students, but now for 2015, transferred to chromebooks. According to Jenny Pierce, the Library Technology Specialist, “Chromebooks are more useful [than iPods] in the classroom.” Pierce also states that chromebooks have access to most anything on the web and have many chromebook compatible apps. Pierce has also found that students are more concentrated when using chromebooks, as they don’t have as many distractions as iPods. Nicole Gomez, a student, agrees that chromebooks don’t have as many distracting games. With all the new technology, it’s understandable that we’ll eventually have even more useful technology. Gomez hopes that our technological gadgets will soon be useful like chromebooks but portable like iPods, while Pierce hopes for new added features like outward faced cameras. It’ll be impressive to see what newer gadgets we’ll eventually have.
