Frank Ocean’s new album, Blond has been in the works for about four years, after his critically acclaimed debut album, Channel Orange. Many of his fans have been waiting a long time, and after months of teasing, he has finally released an unexpected live stream of him working in a wood shop with his new mixtape playing. Favorites on the album are “Pink + White”, “Nikes”, “Ivy”, “Nights, and Solo.”
On these tracks, he talks about his life when he was younger and how his life choices are helping him and affecting him and his music career. He also talks about telling his mom he is homosexual, how she reacts, and how she accepts him. Throughout the album, Frank Ocean talks about how he fell in love when he was young and how he wants to be young again. He misses the person he loved; however, that person is no longer with him. He also talks about the people he has met, the people that he dated, and how they influenced and changed him.
Many people who helped him were featured on the album. These people inclued Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Andre 3000. Frank also talks about how he does not want to be in the media’s eye and how he just wants to make music. He really doesn’t care what people think about his music, he just wants to put out what he loves.
