Many students at Kearns High tend to take off-campus classes; most of the students take them for the college credits. Granite Technical Institute (GTI) offers many different classes to either give college credits early or help further their advancement in careers such as doctors, engineers, pilots, chefs and even scientists. One such class is Certified Nursing Assistant class (CNA) in which they teach you vital signs and observations of people. The students taking CNA learn about the human body, what’s healthy, and what isn’t. The real world applications of this class are virtually unlimited as it can be applied to both careers and even life Itself.
When interviewed and asked Why he enjoys this class and or find it useful, Jose Montoya, student taking CNA, replied, “I like the class because it will help me reach my goal of becoming a pediatrician. It’s useful because it’s important to know about the human body.” Students planning on taking this class or similar nursing classes can expect to do one or more of these activities: learning how to measure blood pressure, how to accurately measure someone’s height and weight, accurately measure a body’s temperature, measure a patient’s pulse, and observe patient’s ailments.
Usually, when a class is created and taught regularly, a very specific question always arises, “How will this class affect me in the real world?” The answer is simple real-life applications of this class can be used in such ways as understanding what nurses and doctors are doing when you go to the Doctor’s office such as knowing what kind of procedure they’re doing and why they do those procedures and what they tell the Doctors. Being able to tell if someone needs to go to a hospital when others are unable to tell.
Many students in this GTI class tend to want a future in a medical scenario and want a head start to help them along,.GTI helps students get into college where they can continue their efforts and turn it into an actual career. Even if Nursing doesn’t interest you, as a student, there are at least a dozen of other classes to take at GTI many helping to reach a successful future career.
The Certified Nursing Assistant class at GTI seems as of right now to be the best way to get ahead of the game in the medical field as it teaches the students very valuable information early on. Teaching them this information this early can give them extra time to learn even more valuable information through medical school or any other form of schooling they take allowing them an early foot in the door. Even if the medical field doesn’t end up being suitable for the students taking them, they can leave the class with a greater understanding of their bodies and minds as well as the peoples are them and they’ll have a valuable life skill
