Anxious Tendencies

Having anxiety? What does it mean to have anxiety? Does it mean not being able to think, or not being able to react to the things around you? There are different types of anxiety, no one gets the same feeling as others do. Some people can’t breathe when they have anxiety, others just start to panic, and they will even panic so bad that they’ll be in shock and lose the ability to move. Some will get nausea and need to throw up, it depends on the person, because everyone has a different way of reacting to anxiety. People also have different ways to help them cope with anxiety.
So what does anxiety have to do with Kearns’ students? Well anxiety can interfere with students’ work and with their life as well. It could lead to grief or even something worse like suicide. People get anxiety when they’re under stress, not enough sleep, and when they don’t get it they can become overwhelmed. School can sometimes cause anxiety from too much work or being pressured to do something that they don’t want to do. Most people get anxiety from being overwhelmed and stressed, this could be of school or stuff at home with family.
There are ways to help people that have anxiety. If you or some you know is suffering with anxiety, Here are some coping methods: count to ten slowly and if you need to go higher than ten then be free to do so, do things that you like, talk to friends or listen to music. There is also an app that can help with your anxiety the app is called “stop think and breath” It’s a free app that has been checked that it’s safe to use. This app can help you if you don’t have anyone to talk to.
Anxiety is not a pleasure to have. If you need help with your anxiety please look for someone to help you, If you don’t know anyone that can help you or are too embarrassed to ask one of your friends or family you can go see Mrs. Davis she is the counselor, here at Kearns High School. She will be happy to help you. “Reach out if you have anxiety, everyone is here to help you” said Mrs. Davis you don’t ever have to be alone. Don’t let anxiety overwhelm you. It’s time you show anxiety who is in charge.
