Electro-Libraries

Kearns- In this digital age, a lot of things that you used to go to a library for are now available at your fingertips.  Libraries are trying to adapt to the digital age by offering more online services, such as going bookless and offering online resources.

Colleges across the country are shifting the focus of their libraries to offer more digital resources and repurposing the space that was formerly the home of many books.  This is making it so there is more space for technology, research etc.  Digitizing books and making them viewable on iPads and smartphones is one way they can do this.

Although Libraries are digitizing and adapting to the digital age, they are still important resources.  Many libraries provide resources that not everyone has at home; computers, internet etc.

Libraries offer more than books.  You can find music and movies, legal documents, printers/copies, maps and archives.

Print seems to be less and less used or needed in this digital age. But libraries are not only great for educational purposes, they also offer an escape and a place to go to enjoy a good read.

As we grow older, we tend to use libraries less, but we will never forget the memories from them.
