Kearns- KHS cheerleader is back to cheering after a while being  out from a back injury. The injury happened when Keiley Mangum was in a small four-wheeler accident the week of July 24. The injuries she sustained were minor, she found out about her case of scoliosis and shortened muscles in her upper back causing pain. It also took a toll on her mental health.

When the Cougar Claw asked her about her mental health during that time period, Keiley replied, “It was very hard for me to see other people so what I loved while I was sitting on the bench.”  Keiley went to multiple hours of physical therapy to get back to what she loves. When the Cougar Claw interviewed her about physical therapy she said, “I’m currently not in physical therapy anymore, I am physically able to move and function.”

The Cougar Claw also asked her how it felt to get back to cheer she said, “At first it was very difficult because my because my mental state still wasn’t the best, this is because I felt as if I got replaced, I wasn’t able to do all the moves full out because I didn’t want to risk hurting myself.”

She also added, “Right now, I am doing amazing! I am stunting, tumbling, cheering sidelines, performing at assemblies and halftimes. So right now my mental and physical state are stronger than ever!”
