Kearns Tennis Team

Alyssa Sainsbury, Managing Editor

Tennis season is upon us and this year the players are able to compete. Last year Tennis was cancelled due to COVID and this year it’s able to make a comeback. Tennis tryouts were at the beginning of March and the players have been practicing and preparing for the season extensively. Garrett Snyder was interviewed by the Cougar Claw and we talked to him about how he was feeling about this season. “The varsity team is a very strong team and we should be a strong contender in the region and I feel like we can qualify all the lines for the state tournament. The JV team amazes me and keeps making huge improvements every day. As a team, we have really great players and a really great team.”
He also mentioned that with COVID, this year the only thing that changed is the amount of work they put in from the cancelling of last year. Tennis is a low contact sport so their risk of COVID is low. To watch a Tennis match, their matches are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 pm. If you are interested in joining the tennis team next year, contact Mr. Bean, one of the coaches. Training for next year starts this summer.
