Organ Donations, What it does for other:

Luis Martin, Sports Staff Writer

As many people may or may not know what an organ donor is, Organ donation is the process when a person allows an organ of their own to be removed and transplanted to another person. You can either do it while you’re alive or once you pass away.
Mr. Henry Williams, Drivers Ed teacher at Kearns High School, mentions that it’s important for teens and adults to know about this and mentions how you can sign up to be an organ donor.
As an organ donor, you don’t need to do much, but when you pass away due to an accident or car crash, which is when your organs come to action, your body is taken to an operating room where thy remove the organs and tissues and take it to the patient who matches with its body.
One organ donor can save up to eight lives. Imagine how many teens and adults you can save. But it all depends on if the patient matches with the other body. The more people we get to be organ donors, the more lives we can save.
To be an organ donor you can apply at the Driver’s License Division when you renew your driver’s license or get your diver’s permit. Or you can sign up at www.yesutah.com.
