As the F1 season begins here are some things you should know about F1 if you’re a new fan , every week a race is held in a different part of the world during that week we have 3 days for different activities on the first day we have two practices that are held the same day but at different times of the day , for the second day qualifying is the next thing these drivers do , there are 3 qualifications for the first one they get 18 minutes then for the second round of qualifying they get 15 minutes and then at last 12 minutes for the third and final round of qualifying , then Saturday is race day each driver gets put into their the track but before the race starts they get what is called a formation lap which this is used by the drivers to warm up their tires and get into the spots they qualified for from the day prior of qualification then they line up and after they line up they wait there until all the lights flash and on the last one they launch and then they are off , it gets hectic on the first turn because everyone is trying to out lap and get in a better position but all the drivers have to keep their distance and play it safe or go for it because if one driver makes a mistake it can cost them the race and not only their race but other drivers race do to their faulty decision making, then their off the driver ahead has lots of advantages since they are the race leader and they are about to pass someone who is laps behind that person that is getting lapped by the race leader they get a blue light flashed and their communication team tell them that they are being lapped and need to move out of the race leaders way, there are also flags that are used in case of an accident when there is a yellow flag the drivers must slow down and follow a safety car but when there’s a red flag that means that there is a big accident and must slow down and go into the pits because the accident is all over the track and is a safety issue so then the drivers wait in the pits until it’s all cleared out and then the FIA who are responsible to make calls and say if the race should be canceled or continued will let the managers of the teams know if the race will be continued or stopped these are some of the things that will help you understand F1 racing.
