World Kindness Day

On November 13, 2015, it was World Kindness Day. World Kindness Day is a day where people from all over the world devote themselves to doing something kind for someone else, even if it’s something as simple as holding the door open for someone else.

The World Kindness Movement, a coalition of nation’s kindness NGOs, introduced world Kindness Day in 1998. This day is observed in many countries, such as, Canada, Japan, Australia, Nigeria, and United Arab Emirates.

The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation created a website, www.randomactsofkindness.org, that is full of random acts of kindness ideas for World Kindness Day. These ideas are great for people who want to do something kind for people on World Kindness Day but are not sure what they can do or what they want to do, if that something is something uncommon or creative. This site could be used to find random acts of kindness for everyday use, not just for World Kindness Day in specific.

Morgan Nielsen, when interviewed, said that if a lot of people participated in World Kindness Day, it could possibly spread kindness throughout the world. She said that if it could do this, it could change the world. That’s exactly what World Kindness Day was introduced for.

Those who introduced World Kindness Day, the World Kindness Movement, introduced this day in hopes of spreading kindness throughout the world. They figured that if they dedicated a day to doing even the smallest act of kindness, more people would feel it is more necessary to do acts of kindness everyday, eventually spreading that kindness to people everywhere.
