My fellow Cougars,

Hello once again, much has happened since the last time I have written to you students. The third quarter blues are upon us but keep your heads up and stay strong cougars, we’re almost there. Spring break is around the corner remembered to be on top of grades, and let’s kill it this quarter. We have had many of our groups, organizations, and teams around the school making some exceptional accomplishments as of late. Our madrigals led by none other than Mr. Martin made their way to state, as well as our very own boys Basketball team. Coached by Mr. Cosby the boys made it to quarter finals, what a great way to end the season! In other amazing news of our teams, our Debate team argued their way to Nationals! Way to go! To all of the spring sports teams we wish you the best of luck in all you pursue this season.

Spirit Week was definitely one to remember, freshman seemed like they had it in the bag, up until the assembly where our seniors arose victorious. Culture week, following, was also an amazing time to share the differences of one another at KHS. Our assembly we held was one of the longest we’ve had to date. I appreciate each and every one of you sincerely for your respect, support, and cooperation throughout that day. It was a proud day to be a cougar and to show our true culture and unity. Good job to Productions Company and those who participated in the play, it was a pleasure to go and watch. Speaking about things that where a pleasure to go and see, it was a beautiful thing to witness students from our school put their insecurities aside, and decide to go up on stage and perform in the talent showcase and assembly. Who knew there were so many talented individuals here at KHS.

Students just a reminder the yearbook is in the making and it’s going to be a big one so make sure to go out and buy one if you haven’t already. Another quick reminder Elections and Grass Roots are going to be underway soon, so be on the lookout for whom you would like to elect to be your up and coming group of leaders next year. For those of you who didn’t know we had an accreditation team her at our school just a few weeks ago. They had evaluated our school to see what kind of students and teacher we have here at KHS. It is a proud honor of mine to let you all know we received the highest degree of accreditation that can be received that’s thanks to all of you cougars; faculty, staff, and students alike. Lastly, a huge thank you for those who attended and helped out with Prom. This years prom was the most well attended we’ve had in many years. It was a blast and we look forward to seeing you all at the end of the year at senior ball. Thank you for being amazing Kearns High School I love you deeply.
