Kearns Community Council

“Council member Zach?” Steve asks. “Present.” Answers Zach. The last name had been called. The meeting officially begin

Most people didn’t know that there was a Kearns Community Council; they have meetings every month, on the first Tuesday, starting at 6:30 P.M. In the meetings they mainly talk about current issues and matters. Also projects that will be held in the Kearns area. The meetings are held in the Kearns Library.

The council ties in with the police force. “I think you guys are doing a great job. The graffiti has gone down in the area, so thank you.” Steve Perry says, talking to the policemen attending the meeting. The council and the police also go hand-in-hand when it comes to events. The Hometown Days in August was ran with those two helping with a lot of stuff.

One would also be surprised how much the council ties in the library. The library is getting new chairs. The head librarian announced that during the last meeting. “You going to donate the old chairs?” Roger Snow asks. I don’t know. Do you have any ideas?” Replied the head librarian. “Well there’s always people who need new tables and chairs.” Says Roger. The library also helped a lot with the Hometown days.

Zach Wellman is a council member who has been on the council for about two years. He attends every meeting. He is also on the National Guard. I managed to ask Zach why he joined. He said “So I could be more active in my community.”

If you would like to contact the council, they have a website. It’s www.kearns-utah.org.
