October is a month of fun and excitement, for instance Halloween is the main theme of the month. Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31st. The word Halloween is a shortening of All Hallows’ Evening, also known as Hallowe’en or All Hallows’ Eve. Halloween is a tradition where kids, parents and families celebrate together and go trick or treating. On the night of October 31st, many kids dress up as a monster or something they like.

In October there are so many activities to do for Halloween, for example, haunted houses, corn mazes, pumpkin carving, theater, costume parties, fright night at Lagoon, pumpkin patches and family gatherings.

Keila Jauregui, when interviewed, said, “Halloween to me is the most exciting month of the year. It’s that part of the year where people are buying costumes and going to haunted houses, and, of course, going trick or treating, which is the best part of it all.

People used to wear costumes because it was an attempt to mimic or appease the evil spirits. Halloween is a tradition where kids go out on October 31st at night and wear their costume and knock on doors saying, “Trick or treat.” Halloween night is fun and exciting, however, it can also be dangerous for kids and families. Before Halloween night the news on TV always have a reminder of how kids need to be close to an adult and have a guardian checks your candy before eating them.

The night of Halloween, kids are out trick or treating, so it’s a vulnerable moment and time for the kids because they’re on the street trying to get to as many houses as possible. So there is a chance a bad person will decide to snatch a kid or even persuaded them to enter their house or car. There are so many possible ways for kids to get lost or kidnapped and that’s why it’s recommended to go in groups and stay together.
