The fourth Kung Fu Panda movie was a new low for the series. Kung Fu Panda 4 was rated the worst out of the series for rotten tomatoes. The last movie, Kung Fu Panda 3 rated 83% on rotten tomatoes but the fourth rated only about 72%. Along with many people saying it’s “overdone” or “useless”. Also, people pick at the animation quality, story, and characters. There were issues before its release where the trailer was leaked and wasn’t officially released until right before the movie came out. Yet still a good handful of people liked it.

The previous trilogy of movies has been a great success for Dreamworks, so making a fourth movie was a great idea for them to profit off of. Except for the fact that the first three movies had the main character, Po, go through his complete character development stage, and a fourth part to this was nearly useless.  But, they introduced a new villain, removed some characters, and had a new story to go off of, many people didn’t like this but some did. In an interview with someone who watched the movie, Finley Evans stated “The Furious Five that were in all the other movies were not in this one. It was disappointing.” The lack of the original side characters disappointed many fans but it was something people could get past. Although the movie wasn’t liked for many of its parts, people loved the humor in the movie. Finley said, “I think the story was okay but what I really liked was how funny it was, it was the funniest Kung Fu Panda movie in my opinion.” So even though it had some problems it was still a good movie to watch for many.
