Football has always been one of the major boys’ sports teams, along with baseball and soccer, but what about tennis? Boy’s tennis season is right around the corner, but not many people don’t know that.
The Cougar Claw had the opportunity to talk to the tennis coach, Mrs. Robison. The Cougar Claw asked her how long she has been coaching, she responded with, “This is my second season coaching the boy’s tennis team. I also coached the girl’s tennis team earlier this year and that was a really fun time for us. I enjoy coaching.” When reviewing last year’s season, Coach Robison shared, “This past season was fun, not just for the players, but for me as well and I hope that this upcoming season is just as fun as the last.” Finally, the Cougar Claw asked her how the team did last season. She responded with, “The boys got both doubles to state and the rest did well in regions and hopefully that can happen again this season.”
Tennis is an underrated sport, but that doesn’t mean we can’t support our cougars. Kearns High wishes the tennis team the best of luck on their upcoming season. Go Cougars!
